CHILDREN’S STORY – A FATHER’S HUG
Once upon a time, there was a sweet little princess who lived in a wonderful kingdom, so vast that even the king, her father, needed a map to admire it all. However, one day, under the sly words of a clever man, the king lost his entire kingdom, and the princess was forced to go into exile in a nameless land.
As the little princess grew, her heart held only one wish: to reunite with the father whose face she could barely remember. She knew she had to embark on a journey to find her family and set out one morning when the first rays of the sun announced the dawn.
“Where are you going?” asked Bardy, the curious parrot.
“I’m going to find the king!” replied the princess.
“Aren’t you afraid?” asked Bardy, even more intrigued.
“To face the journey with more courage, you will be my companion!” she said, quickly grabbing him. Before the parrot could escape or decide not to follow the princess on her long journey, he found himself trapped in a bag.
“Hey, hey, hey, what kind of manners are these?” Bardy kept chattering, even after being captured!
“The journey is better when shared by two!” the princess emphasized, happy to have a travel companion.
After a long walk, the princess and Bardy arrived at a grand Royal Palace, where the king claimed to have no children.
“Maybe…” thought the princess, “this is my father!” However, when she introduced herself, he said, “Me, a father? What news is this? My kingdom is mine, and no one, after me, will have it!”
The parrot flew over the princess’s head and shouted “…And no one, after me, will have it!”
The princess left that kingdom and, in the middle of her journey, met a wealthy merchant. “Maybe he’s my father…” she thought. But when she asked, he replied, “Me, your father? I crossed seas and oceans to bring my valuable jewels from the East… and if I have children, I don’t remember!”
The parrot flew over the princess’s head and muttered, “I don’t remember, I don’t remember…”
The princess realized that real fathers would never respond like that. So she decided to continue her journey.
It was almost nightfall when a fisherman, seeing the little princess alone in the cold, said to her, “Soon it will be night, my dear, you should find shelter!”
“Sir, I am looking for my family. My father lost the kingdom many years ago, and since then, I have not heard from him.”
“My dear, you can come to our house. My wife and I would be happy to offer you food and a warm place.”
After so long, the little princess finally found a true family. Those people were truly generous. “One day, maybe I can repay your kindness!” she said with a smile, as she looked at the stars, hoping that someone up there could hear and grant her wish. That man, even without children, was like a real father: with a heart of gold.
And the next day, the fisherman found the princess’s father. He was no longer a king, but the princess recognized him instantly: those sweet eyes, the always radiant smile, and a heart always generous and joyful. Father and daughter hugged tightly and stayed in the small fishing village, where every morning the sun rose with its golden rays.
